Born and raised Mardell Walter Miller, Jr. by his mother who also raised two more men of her own, plus her sister’s children, which made our household very interesting in Morehead City, North Carolina. The youngest by far with other brother and sister by more than 10 years Phunc Milla range of music went from the O’Jays, SOS Band, Earth Wind & Fire, Gap Band, The Parliaments and Charlie Wilson. Music would play all the time in the Milla household. Phunc Milla’s first time hearing hip-hop, came when his cousin moved from New York, to North Carolina.

KRS-One, Rakim, Furious Five started Phunc Milla’s love for the music. From that point on, Phunc did not do anyting that he would not recite lyrics at the same time. Once other artist emerge like Nas, Tupac, Nortorious B.I.G, OutKast, A Tribe Called Quest and The Roots, his love grew even stronger, thinking how he could reach the level as those that influence. From emcee battles in the High School hallways; teaming with some emcees in college, Phunc Milla’s style seems different and did not follow the norm. After college, Phunc Milla lived in Washington D.C. with his grandmother. She did not like rap music, but she did like listening when a song of Will Smith came on. Phunc’s grandmother stated that, if he is destine for the music industry, “please make it so everyone can enjoy it.”

Phunc Milla went through different phases searching for his unique sound. Now Phunc believes that he has found it and is sharing it with the world. Performing throughout North Carolina; Georgia (Atlanta); Reno, Nevada; New York City, Alabama and Washington D.C., Phunc Milla is definitely on a mission spreading his sound and brand. Phunc Milla is always in the mood to learn, so he is just not an artist, but he is also a businessperson. With understanding the business, he knows will provide him longevity in the music industry.

Phunc Milla released several independent albums on his own as well with a group! Phunc teamed up with a couple of producers, J Stubbs Music and J-Bird Production for most of his projects. So he definitely understands that you cannot do it all by yourself, it does take a team of people who have chemistry and dedication. Phunc Milla hopes that the world can relate, understand and self-reflect from his music. Music is life for Phunc Milla, and he knows that music is life for others. Whether a person is happy, sad, joyful or just going through the motions, music provides that message that there is a light in everything. The squad consist of Street Fundz Ent, Hidnjulz Publishing, Back2Wax, Smash Junkies and J Stubbs Music so prepare for a lot of awesome music.
