Those lyrics resonate across even the most illiterate music head who wouldn’t know the first thing about hip hop. Sang proud by Def Squad’s Red man, these words helped to fuel a movement that would be around for decades to come.
We all remember those days in preschool where the biggest toddler would snatch away the toy you were playing with and exclaim “Mine!”. Some of us would cry, some of us would begin a tug of war and others would just take the loss and find another toy to enjoy. For most though, bullying seemed to have ended in the sandbox.
That very question has been at the center of an ongoing political, spiritual and moral debate. Luckily our forefathers had enough sense to have left it to be answered by the individual states. But was that the best solution? Increasingly more and more people around the country and world seem to not think it was.
