Nick Cannon, host of ‘America’s Got Talent’ and husband of Mariah Carey as well as father of ‘Dem Babies,’ is recovering after suffering from mild kidney failure. The couple had been in Aspen, Colo. over the holidays and that’s when Cannon became ill. He is currently in a Colorado facility.
When Brangelina’s twins were born, the couple was paid like a bazillion dollars — actually $12 million — for the first images. Brad and Angelina promptly donated the money to charity, with Angelina Jolie saying she did so in order to control where the images ended up and how. It was a savvy mother-protecting-her-cubs move.
But, if you are hoping to shell out a few bucks for an issue of PEOPLE or USWeekly or any other celeb tabloid to “ooh” and “ahh” over Beyonce and Jay-Z‘s yet-to-be-born, hotly contested Babyonce, hope again, folks.
Cee Lo Green started off 2012 on the wrong foot when he committed a major lyrical faux pas on New Year’s Eve. The singer covered John Lennon‘s beloved peace anthem ‘Imagine’ and when he tweaked the lyrics a bit, it sent Lennon fans into an outrage. Guess Cee Lo learned a valuable lesson: You don’t mess with the classics.
While many of you may still be nursing hangovers from your New Year’s Eve celebrations, we’re happy to share video footage of the pop acts who performed on ‘Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve’ in case you missed the extravaganza. Nicki Minaj served up one of the most memorable performances of the evening, with LMFAO member Sky Blu fighting his back ailment to perform for the masses alongside Redfoo.
After last week’s web-created buzz and hullabaloo that Beyonce had given birth in New York City to a daughter she named Tiana-May Carter, a food blog of all things reported that the singer was spotted out at a Brooklyn restaurant on New Year’s Eve. That means Bey is still preggers. How amazing is that a foodie site scooped the likes of TMZ?
While most of her fellow pop divas like Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj worked on New Year’s Eve by performing, Rihanna took it easy. Sort of. The 23-year-old singer spent her NYE partying with rap mogul and Vodka purveyor Diddy.
She hung out instead of rocking out and that’s quite okay, since she had such a busy year in 2011. She deserved a night off to have fun, toss a few back and mingle with other celebs.
Gym Class Heroes debuted their brand new single ‘A– Back Home’ with redheaded gypsy chanteuse Neon Hitch on ‘Late Night With Jimmy Fallon’ this past Thursday (Dec. 8.) The song is reggae-flavoredand will transport port you to the islands, Rihanna-style, if only for four minutes. But it’s just as catchy as the smash hit ‘Stereo Hearts,’ which embeds itself in to your cranium after one listen.
OMGX2. You thought Justin Bieber had swagger and Lil Wayne had flow? Pft. Then you ain’t witnessed the untouchable awesomeness of 2-year-old Alim Kamara. The little boy is unbelievable. He raps with his dad, Femi Iloyi, but it’s not exactly formed words and sentences words that are coming out of his mouth. It’s baby talk and it’s completely and totally indiscernible, but it’s also cute, since the tot literally does not miss a beat.
Things get a little explosive in the video for the Willow and Nicki Minaj duet ‘Fireball.’ The vid opens with Star Wars credits, with words ascending against a black, starry sky. Nice touch, ladies. While there is the requisite amount of flames for a vid for a song with the word “fire” in the title, the most standout thing about the urban, semi apocalyptic clip? The way Willow dances in the streets, with her long, coltish legs and exaggerated moves.
Ousted ‘X Factor‘ rapper Astro and hip-hop mogul Jay-Z are both of an ‘Empire State of Mind,’ being Brooklyn exports and all. But that’s as far as the association goes. For now. Those rumors that the Hova had already scooped up Astro for a record deal immediately following his exit from the show? Not true, so says Astro.
Leona Lewis dropped the sun-splashed single ‘Collide‘ earlier this year, dealt with a plagiarism claim regarding the song and then went MIA for a second. She disappeared like a ghost for a hot minute. Now, word is her third album is due in March, but to tide fans over in the interim, she will issue ‘Hurt: The EP’ on Friday, Dec. 9, in her native U.K. It’ll be available at Amazon.com.
We’ve all been there. The morning after a wild party. A ripping headache and nauseous stomach. A stranger in bed beside us. The subsequent walk of shame. T-Pain captures all of those actions and emotions in the video for ‘Hangover,’ which he wrote and directed. The video won’t be on his new album ‘rEVOLVEr,’ but it’s hilarious as it captures a universal feeling.
