Just days after she expressed her support for the Speaker Carl Heastie, my friend Crystal accepts the honor of being appointed the first African American Chairwoman of the NYS Assembly Government Operations Committee.

Assembly Member Crystal D. Peoples-Stokes, has faithfully served New York State’s 141st Assembly district since 2003. An advocate with clear and principled service, she has always put policy before politics. Crystal continues to fearlessly fight for diversity, specifically in making sure Minority and Women Owned Businesses have a fair chance in obtaining state contracts.

As a Committee Chair, Crystal and her staff look forward to helping people on a even grander scale. If you see her around town or in Albany for Black Caucus Weekend, be sure to give her a hug and say congratulations!! She deserves it.
