Well, that was fast. After releasing her new single, 'Afraid,' Amel Larrieux has unveiled the cover art for her new album, 'Ice Cream Everyday.' This will be the singer's fifth solo album and we couldn't be more happy for her.

Larrieux references the cover of Chaka Khan's 1981 album, 'What Cha' Gonna Do for Me,' for her own artwork. The singer, wearing a purple and black tank top, is surrounded by neon colors and brushes of pink and yellow, which screams summer.

As we mentioned before, 'Afraid' is the perfect summertime ballad for romantics. The uptempo groove and Larrieux's soulful vocals will also get you in the mood to do the two-step.

It's been almost six years since we've heard her a full-length LP from the former Groove Theory member. Her last effort was the 2007 jazz covers album, 'Lovely Standards.'

In an essay posted on her website Bliss Life, Larrieux expressed gratitude for her fans' patience and is excited to release her new project.

i am relieved to share with whomever's interested that our album is finally finished. it's been quite touching actually, reading your messages asking after the new album and its release date. my level of gratitude is constantly challenged by your tireless support. it means I get to make the best work I possibly can, as an offering of sorts, to you."

You can pre-order 'Ice Cream Everyday' right now via her website. The collection, due Aug. 27, will include three bonus mixes.

In addition, one lucky fan will have the honor of having their own copy personally delivered by Amel herself. Now how sweet is that!

We are glad that Amel Larrieux is back and is bringing some heat this summer.
