This is outrageous! A Buffalo mother says she was arrested and her children were taken from her cutody, because she decided to homeschool them!! I certainly hope the Republicans who supported Betsy DeVos for the Secretary of Education because of her platform of choices in education, will stand behind this mother!

Kiarre Harris, a mother here in Buffalo, says she was arrested and even worse, her children were taken from her and placed in foster care, all because she decided to homeschool them! In November, Kiarre decided to remove her kids from the Buffalo Public Schools system after realizing they were not getting a quality education, according to the Atlanta Black Star!
Even though Kiarre began the process to legally remove her children and begin homeschooling, she was still treated like a criminal! During an interviewwith WKBW 7 Eyewitness News, she said she filed the appropriate documents on Dec. 7, 2016 at Buffalo City Hall about her intent to homeschool her kids. Even though the district confirmed they received her paperwork, a representative from Child Protective Services came by her home to inquire why her children weren't in school.
Child Protective Services returned nearly a month later, but this time with police. The representative allegedly demanded that she hand over her children, based on an order from a judge, which they refused to show her! When she wouldn't turn her kids over, she was arrested for obstruction!
