| Ronald McDonald House Annual 5k run/walk Come out and show your support July 28th for the 9th Annual Ronald Mcdonald run/walk. The walk is sanctioned througout the beautiful streets of Buffalo starting and ending at the Ronald Mcdonald House. All proceeds benefit the house and the services it provides to families,concluding with a celebration post party with live music. Great food, drinks, and prizes. Registration is July 28th from 12:00pm-6:30pm followed by the race.

| "KNOW THYSELF-COMMUNITY WEDNESDAY" WBLKAs a part of WBLK's ongoing "Know Thyself" campaign, we have created a weekly series called "Know Thyself-Community Wednesday". Each Wednesday starting with Chris Reynolds from 10am to 10pm WBLK will present a topic of dicussion for our listening audience that deals with issues affecting our community. Topics will range from teen prenancy prevention, African-American males high population rate in prison, role models...are young people idolizing the wrong influences, and more!
Community Wednesday is to engage listeners and focus on the development of self-awareness, identity, social skills, and conflict resolution. On the last Wednesday of each month, we will take a "Pause for the Cause" at 8pm and recap and dicuss all of the previous Wednesday topics with a qualified expert either in studio or via telephone.
The Ultimate Plan of the "Know Thyself-Community Wednesday" is Mental Liberation of the Community.

| National Dance Day Miss Barbara’s School of Dance and The American Heart Association have partnered together for NATIONAL DANCE DAY, an iniative that encourages the nation, young and old to move! Most importantly, the day is intended to promote health and wellness. Individuals and families from across the WNY community are invited to come out for a fun filled day of free dance lessons in Hip-Hop, African, Jazz, and line dancing on Saturday July 31st from 10:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. at Miss Barbara’s School of Dance, 1832 Main Street located in the Delevan Station Center (Corner of Main and Delavan). Registration will also be accepted for the 2010 Buffalo Niagara Heart Walk to be held on the Campus of University of New York at Buffalo on October 2, 2010. There will be vendor and refreshments on sale.

| Drums Along the Waterfrontwill once again fill the skies over Western New York with thundering drum beats and beautiful brass rhythms on Sunday, August 8th at 5:30 p.m. at Ralph Wilson Stadium, Orchard Park.
This year’s show has the makings of being the best DATW in its history and is being billed by many within the drum corps international community as one of the best drum corps competitions in North America this year. In addition, for the first time the internationally renowned US Marine Drum and Bugle Corp will travel to WNY and make a special appearance in this year’s event.
A tribute to area veterans and service members will coincide with the performance.
Tickets are currently on sale and can be purchased at the Ralph Wilson Stadium Box Office or at any Ticketmaster.com location. If purchased in advance, ticket price is $22.00 for adults, $10.00 for children 12 and under, and $20.00 for students, military veterans and those 65 and older. Tickets are $25.00 for adults when purchased the day of the event. Discounts for large groups are available. Parking is free. The 1st annual 411 Health Fair 2010 will serve as an educational forum to encourage healthy lifestyles and provide useful resources for the residents of Western, Ny. Health Care Screenings and vendors will promote awarness and education to attendees. The Health fair is designed to empower individuals to take complete ownership of health and provide the necessary resources to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Proposed Services include blood pressure screenings and education, dental screenings, vision screening, HIV/AIDS testing, cancer screenings, Diabetes information, and much more.

| Quench Their Thirst for Hope Fundraiser Now and through August 14th Buffalo's City Mission and beverage centers around Erie & Niagara County are teaming up to provide food for women, men, and children. People are encouraged to recycle empty cans and bottles then donate the refund to "Quench Their Thirst for Hope" fundraiser. Every 1,200 bottles will pay for 31 meals. All donations may be sent to Summer Bottle Challenge City Mission 100 E. Tupper St., Buffalo, N.Y. 14203.

| AIDS Red Ribbon Ride The AIDS Red Ribbon Ride will have two ride options in 2010, both benefiting AIDS Care, a non-profit, community based organization, founded with the recent merger of AIDS Rochester and AIDS Community Health Center. Proceeds from the event will go directly to fund much-needed HIV/AIDS care in our community, including expert medical care, social services, prevention, and clinical research. | Out of the Darkness Suicide Prevention Community Walk Please come out and show your support of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. The 4th Annual Buffalo Out of the Darkness Community Walk takes place on September 18th at Deleware Park North (by the zoo). This walk is for anyone touched by suicide and mental health illness. Proceeds benefit local and national suicide prevention awareness programs.

| Inner City Greater Buffalo Soap Box Derby Race The Greater Buffalo Fall Soap Box Derby race is taking place on September 25 & 26 on Bailey Avenue between Walden and Broadway from 8:00 am to 7:00pm. All inner city children are encouraged to attend this rally where they can accumulate points that may qualify them to compete in a national race. Each child is asked to have adult supervision. A limited number of soap box derby cars may be available for kids to use.
