Every month since March, an inmate has been mistakenly released from the Erie County Holding Center. This month’s unintended release was 25-year old Paris Williams who apparently stepped up when the name of the intended inmate was called and the Deputy took him without checking his wrist band. In two previous months, a 19-year old was released who had a bench warrant for harassment and a 32-year old who had been accused of stabbing his wife were both released! The serious mix-ups have been blamed on the Holding Center being understaffed and overworked. Do you sympathize with the staff at the holding center or do you feel that there is no excuse for these types of errors?
