Given the holiday season and the number of dogs looking for forever homes in Western New York, we thought we'd do a special feature of some of the senior cats in the area.

These five felines may be up in years, but their happiest times could be ahead of them.

Are you looking to add a dog to your family? Do you know someone who has time to show these dogs the love they deserve in their golden years?

"Bailey is a sweet 9 year black and white male. This senior citizen is not quite sure how he ended up in the shelter, but would like a nice comfortable home for his senior years. He is having a small problem right now with kidney stones and has been put on a special diet which we are hoping will clear up the problem," via

"This distinguished Lady finds herself, through no fault of her own, to have fallen upon difficult times. She seeks assistance in finding a quiet retirement home. Callie has paid her dues and chooses not to share her life with other cats, so she needs to be an only. She is a senior beauty, approximately 13 years old with the most gorgeous fur," via

"Growler is a handsome 9 year old brown and black tabby male. His name is not a reflection of his temperament in any way...He came into the shelter with his BFF Emma and is definitely the more outgoing of the two and will follow you around until you pet him or scratch his head. He likes being held and will purr up a storm for you," via

"Chip Loves attention! Gets along great with other cats. Chip is FIV+, but in good health," via

"My name is Kimora! I am a sweet and gentle soul who is looking for the other half to her whole. My favorite thing to do is snuggle up in a cozy spot- the perfect friend for a cold winter day. All that is missing is a loyal companion! I am a super lovable lady who likes to play hide and seek at first- but don't let this fool you!" via
