The last year has been arguably the most memorable for rap fans. From January to December 2015, there rarely seemed to be a dull moment. Kendrick Lamar, Drake and Future were the biggest winners of the year, each releasing career-defining albums and helping to take the torch from the likes of Nas, Jay Z and Scarface and become what they meant to hip-hop for a new generation of listeners. Veterans also showed up big, with mainstays like The Game, Lupe Fiasco, Skyzoo and other usual suspects all coming up big and unleashing bodies of work that reminded the people of why we fell in love with them in the first place. And when you add in contributions from new jacks like Rae Sremmurd, Fetty Wap and Travis Scott, 2015 was as varied and eventful as 1995.

2016 is well underway and while last year was a doozy, the coming months looks to be an epic calendar year for the culture and will include dozens of high-profile releases from the elite stars in hip-hop, as well as a few highly-anticipated debuts. Will Kanye West put the backpack back on for his latest album? Will Drake fully evolve into Jay Z 2.0 and release the undisputed classic that's eluded him? Will Jay Electronica emerge from the shadows and deliver the once-in-a-lifetime LP that we've all been salivating for? Only time will tell, but what we do know is that we can look forward to a lot of great long players from our favorite artists.

After asking the readers through Twitter for their most anticipated albums this year and taking their thoughts into account, we've compiled the 20 albums that have them talking most through ever reply and retweet. Some of these projects have release dates while others don't, then there's the ones that are still wishful thinking in the eyes of fans. Did your pick make the cut? Take a look.
