2 Chainz Solo Album Debut
The dominating force behind the rap group Playaz Circle is ready to drop his first solo album. The artist formerly known as Tity Boi reveals why he left DTP, his new publishing deal and a sneak peak of the new album inside.
Much has been made of 2 Chainz and his past as a member of Ludacris’ DTP label. Here’s what 2 says about the split:
“I wanted to be my own boss,” he shared in an interview with Fuse at SXSW. “To me, I wasn’t going anywhere. It had a glass ceiling. So, I just wanted to get on my own, start over, from the ground up with the hustle.”
I’d say he’s doing a fine job. Look at the hits he co-starred on
1.Mercy (G.O.O.D. Music)
2. Beez in da Trap (Nicki Minaj)
3. No Lie (Drake)
4. Sweat (Ciara)
5. Birthday Song (Kanye West)
Def Jam’s Senior Vice President of A & R Faith Newman commends 2 Chainz:
“He has a unique flow, look, and persona, and you feel that charisma when you meet him in person [and] loved that 2 Chainz was a veteran of the business, with a new major label deal, but underground at the same time.”

2 Chainz reveals who worked on the album
Of course I’m workin’ wit my Drumma Boys, my C-Notes, my Lex Lugers, my Mike Wills, plus this new generation, the new people that I’m working with as well. It’s a well-put together project.
And the good news keeps coming, 2Chainz just landed a major publishing deal with Reservoir Media!
“Artists depend on strong publishing representation and today, I believe I have secured that.” – 2 Chainz
